As a survivor of domestic violence, I want to encourage anyone in this position, and who think they may be in this position, to search for helpful support. It is rare that the perpetrator will really reform no matter how many times s/he says they will. Some victims are in more physical danger than others and emotional, verbal and sexual abuse are just as destructive. If you think you may be a victim, I urge you to seek support. Talk with a trusted family member, a trusted friend or call a local mental health agency and ask for referrals/references where you can talk through your situation and get the help you need to leave your situation. I know this is not easy to do, but work at getting help. I finally did and it is the best thing I've ever done in my life. I wish you hope and success.
