Recently I was shocked seeing a WhatsApp forward on my phone which says that the rate of tooth decay is on the rise in our country, particularly among young children and toddlers. It explains that more than 25000 Canadians under the age of 15 are admitted to the hospital to treat tooth decay every year.
Now, I'm in a really confused state. At what age should I take my child to a dental clinic? I have googled to find that children are preferred to visit the dentist when their first tooth erupts. My kid is 11 months old now. Her first tooth erupted last week. My hubby is planning to take the baby to an oral health center for children in Waterloo. Her tooth seems to be healthy. Should we take her to the clinic now? What is the need for an early visit to a dental clinic?
