Hi, I am a newbie to this forum. Happy to be a part of this forum. I live with my husband in Vancouver. Last month my brother went to Paris due to some urgent work in his office. It was a sudden decision due to his busy work schedule at the office. On his way to the airport, he left his 7-year-old child with me as he cannot take her along with him because she cannot miss her classes at school. She is a very smart girl who loves playing. I like to spend time with her. She visits our home often but never used to stay because of my brother’s busy time schedule. She will be staying with me for the next 2 months. My brother told me to take care of her food, studies and study material. She studies on her own. But since my brother insisted me to care of her studies, I thought I would help in her studies. After two or three days I understood that she learns quickly her subjects, except mathematics. Mathematics is a little tough subject for her, so I decided to teach her mathematics. But she is very restless and I can’t make her sit and learn. So I decided to buy some toys which are useful for learning mathematics. I have heard that lots of educational toys are available in the market. Among them, Montessori materials are the best in case of studying. So I have preferred to buy math materials of Montessori for her to learn mathematics. I think these materials will help her learn mathematics quickly. Is it really really helpful? What are the other learning materials provided by the Montessori?
